Businesses say the rise in diesel prices is hurting transport, farming and logistics operations. But transport operators have vowed to paralyse travel across the country today to force a response, warning that rising fuel costs, heavy taxation and unstable pricing have made operations unsustainable. 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒅𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒔: In politics, it is said, there are no permanent friends or enemies but few would have imagined some key ODM figures in the Linda Mwananchi faction proposing to forge an alliance with the United Opposition to eject President William Ruto from State House in 2027. It is a plan that has stirred excitement and critism but will it work? 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐃: 50+1 𝒑𝒊𝒑𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎: Recently released survey that showed William Ruto's dwindling political fortunes with only 24pc support presents a real nightmare to the incumbent, who seems to be employing all the tricks in the book including buying off opposition key figures for re-election cruise in 2027. This is the same with the leading opposition contenders individually. However, a potentially united opposition commands a comfortable 57pc of voter support, an advantage that remains purely mathematical unless the leaders settle on a single presidential candidate.
