👇👇 Consumers are about to pay the price for Illinois’ swipe fee law. The state’s Interchange Fee Prohibition Act aims to reduce costs, but will instead shift the costs to consumers, resulting in broader market distortions... Good piece by @leahmlocke realclearmarkets.com/articles/2026/…

"The U.S. has no Jones Act-eligible liquefied natural gas tankers serving U.S. domestic routes, leaving regions like New England reliant on imported fuel, including shipments from Trinidad and Tobago, even though abundant domestic supplies are closer." @KR_Bledsoe @AFPhq

My latest w/ @InsideSourcesDC 👇🏻 “Repealing or reforming the Jones Act would not solve every affordability challenge overnight. It would lower costs, strengthen energy security, and make American supply chains more efficient. In an economy where every dollar matters, that’s a practical step Congress should take.” dcjournal.com/counterpoint-a…

Even the America First Policy Institute — a policy organization founded by former Trump administration officials — wrote recently, to “end the need for states to develop separate debanking legislation […] it would be far preferable for states to support a fair and uniform federal standard” and avoid a patchwork of inconsistent and conflicting rules.

Preventing the denial of banking services was the entire point of this bill. The irony is that passing it would achieve the opposite.

South Carolina's Guarantee Banking Act (HB 5538/ SB 1069) will only create unnecessary duplication and potential conflicting rules with no benefits for South Carolina businesses or their customers. My latest: makethepointradio.com/kevcorner/stan…

🎯from Jessica Ward and @mattiasgugel @NTU South Carolina’s Guarantee Banking Act...may end up hurting the very people lawmakers say they’re trying to help...Abide by federal rules, and risk getting sued under state law. Follow state law, and risk violating federal regulations. It’s a no-win scenario. postandcourier.com/opinion/commen…

Executive Director @dlibsen testified before South Carolina legislators — urging them to support @POTUS & @SenatorTimScott’s federal efforts to end government-driven debanking, warning that the Guarantee Banking Act could stifle progress & increase costs. See what he said:

Gov’t shouldn’t complicate what the market already does well. These interchange fee bills in PA and DE could disrupt payments for consumers, create new burdens for small businesses, and make earning tips harder. Read my newest op-ed in @PhillyInquirer:bit.ly/4suM2Gw

Good. As I've said before, "The single most effective step policymakers could take today to address the unintended debanking of lawful citizens is to modernize the anti-money laundering framework." thehill.com/opinion/financ…

US regulators unveiled a plan Tuesday to overhaul rules intended to prevent money laundering, a move likely to be cheered by Wall Street as banks continue to rack up wins in their push for policy changes under the Trump administration. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Americans want banking rules applied fairly, not politically. Clear, objective standards protect markets, spur innovation, and prevent regulators from picking winners and losers. Congress should codify these protections. washingtontimes.com/news/2026/mar/…
