Rory Stewart told Sky News that American and Israeli attacks are pushing Gulf economies back by 10 to 15 years. He pointed to Dubai, where decades of development turned desert land into financial and innovation hubs, now being devastated. Stewart said Gulf states like the UAE and Qatar once relied on US bases for protection but are now paying the price, becoming targets themselves. He warned that continued involvement risks a global economic meltdown and the start of a larger war, urging all foreign forces to withdraw immediately.

🇺🇦🇪🇸 Nine documents were signed during the visit of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to Spain. ➡️ Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Kingdom of Spain on Technical and Financial Cooperation establishes a legal framework for implementing various programs and projects in Ukraine with Spain’s financial support. ➡️ Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Spain and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine concerning Coproduction in the Kingdom of Spain provides for the joint development and manufacture of integrated defence systems to strengthen production capabilities. The document covers technology exchange, sharing of knowledge and experience, and conducting defense research. ➡️ Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union, and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will enhance cooperation in diplomatic education. It opens opportunities for exchange of experience, training programs, and research. ➡️ Contract between Ukrzaliznytsia and TRIA INGENIERÍA. This is the first project under the infrastructure restoration and modernization program, for which Spain allocated €200 million last November. An innovative bogie for freight wagons with automatic track gauge adjustment will be developed, enabling faster delivery of Ukrainian export goods across Europe. ➡️ Grant Agreement on non-repayable funding between Ukrzaliznytsia and Instituto de Crédito Oficial for the practical implementation of the automatic track gauge adjustment technology for freight wagons. Agreements were also signed between Spanish and Ukrainian companies: ➡️ Cooperation Agreement between Spain’s Sener Group and Ukrainian defense company Fire Point. ➡️ Cooperation Agreement between Spain’s Sener Group and the State Kyiv Design Bureau Luch. ➡️ Cooperation Agreement between Spain’s Sener Group and the Ukrainian research and production enterprise Radionix. Each of these three agreements focuses on establishing collaboration in the missile sector and air defense, aimed at strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s skies. ➡️ Cooperation Agreement between Spanish company Escribano and Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems manufacturer Skyeton. The companies will jointly develop and manufacture attack laser-guided systems based on Ukrainian-made unmanned systems.

At #BEDEX I joined EU Commissioner for Defense & Space @KubiliusA and Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of the NATO Military Committee (@CMC_NATO), to discuss Europe’s defence industrial future. The message is clear: European defence industry must increase production and reduce unit prices. That can only happen if cross-border defense-industrial collaboration becomes the norm.
