@SarahWorkx OMG, that is not 3 inches. And they have a right to use their yard. The deck is where the door is.

My neighbor really built a deck three inches off my fence… and I’m honestly still trying to process the audacity. 😭 Like out of all the space you had, you decided to build it practically touching my fence? How is that not inconsiderate? I get that people want to improve their own property, but at what point does your project start becoming someone else’s problem? Three inches is way too close, and now I’m the one stuck looking at it and dealing with whatever issues come from it. Was there no thought at all about privacy, drainage, maintenance, or just basic respect for the person living next door? Some neighbors really act like property lines are just suggestions until someone finally says something. This is exactly the kind of thing that turns a normal neighborhood situation into a full-blown headach See less

@Stock_Number @quayeofficial @wordtodamak @VolsAF If the asshole hadn't started it, it wouldn't have escalated. I disagree with the jury. This was a case of scary black man. Next you'll tell me that Bothan Jean is responsibility for his death as well.

@Stock_Number @quayeofficial @wordtodamak @VolsAF Back up - he had every right to be where he was. He had every right not to identify himself to a random joe with a power trip. He had every right to feel threatened and to attempt to defend himself. Trayvon was the victim not the other asshole.

@wordtodamak @Stock_Number @VolsAF The typically cite Obama saying Trayvon Martin could’ve been his son as a or the major one. Even the though it was true and just a way to empathize with a grieving family, they said he was bias bc of color and should be president for all ppls.

@blewis823 I would have just walked in, gone to a stall and done my business. It wouldn't have occurred to me to be concerned.

The man wasn't doing anything wrong, his babies were right there. Some people need to mind your business. I wouldn't be bothered about seeing a man taking his daughters to the bathroom labeled Women's.
Kim "Katie" USA@KimKatieUSA

A father at QuikTrip checked the women’s restroom first and found it empty, so he took his two young daughters inside to use it. While they were washing their hands, another man walked in and started yelling that a guy had no business being in the women’s bathroom with his daughters.

@ashleyschendel ok, but men are using the urinal on the wall in plain site when you walk your child in. It would be different if every urinal was in a stall. That's not the case

I know people are split on this, but I’m not. My husband and my dad would’ve never walked into a women’s restroom. Ever. When our daughter was little and I wasn’t with them, my husband took her into the men’s room. Did he love it? No. Are men’s bathrooms usually gross? Yes. But public bathrooms are gross in general. Nobody is sitting down comfortably in either one like they’re at home. I wish every place had a family restroom. That would solve a lot of this. But they don’t, and you still have to make the best decision in the moment. For me, that decision is not a grown man going into the women’s restroom. If the concern is cleanliness, then are we saying dads should start bringing little boys into the women’s restroom too? Because little boys are also children. They also deserve clean bathrooms. That argument falls apart pretty fast. Use the men’s stall. Stand guard. Bring wipes. Bring sanitizer. Put toilet paper down. If you’re worried about stall gaps, keep a towel or blanket in the car. It may not be ideal, but parenting is full of “not ideal.” Men do not belong in women’s restrooms. And I don’t think that should be controversial.

From a parked truck across the street, I watched them force the door open and freeze at the bare walls and silence. Daniel saw the envelope. I don’t know what it said inside. But I do know this: Some burdens finally get to set themselves free.

My son forgot to hang up, and I heard him call me a burden. So while he and his wife smiled their way through Italy and France—already planning a future that included my house—I quietly sold the $875,000 home his father and I spent 32 years paying off. Then I came back just in time to watch his key stop working in my front door.

@Cryptoboyy_Aji Bullshit - you didn't listen. It's in the paperwork you sign at closing. They point it out. It's in your documents that you are given preclosing and it has been for years. You just didn't pay attention

4 years into my mortgage I finally looked at the numbers closely. I’ve paid $95,000. My loan balance went down $31,000. That means $64,000 went to interest, taxes, and insurance. Money I will never see again. Money that built nothing for me. Nobody told me this before I signed. They showed me the monthly payment. They showed me the home price. They walked me through the closing costs. Nobody sat me down and said “by the way, for the first several years almost every dollar you pay goes to the bank first.” That’s not buying a house. That’s renting money from a bank while slowly, painfully, dollar by dollar convincing them to let you own something you’re already living in. The bank gets paid first. Every month. For 30 years. And somewhere around year 12 you finally start paying more principal than interest. Year 12. Read that again.

@chanelandcoke @shawzsav I think that just indicates how you process information. For those with Dyslexia, reading a book and retaining information is extremely difficult. Listening often works better for them

@shawzsav I read a lot like A LOT. And even though I am a musician (and have affinity to audio) I’m having such a hard time with audio books (or podcasts btw). So yeah I keep thinking they’re two different things. But maybe not for other people idk

@singingbirth This is also why we put our kids in survival swim as early as possible. Teaching them to roll over and float on their back buys time to get to them. I also think people rely too much of the arm floaties. They create a false sense of security.

Every time we go to a birthday party I feel like we’re the only ones watching kids. I went to a party recently at a house with a pool, full of adults, adults everywhere, all around the pool, and I still had to save one girl from almost drowning with a baby in my arms, and then my own daughter fell in, with parents all around, all staring as I called my husband to get her out of the water because I was the only one watching. So what’s up with that. Do parents assume because there’s so many adults around they can let their guard down?
Peter B@realpeteyb123

If the kids are in the pool, I’m watching them, I don’t leave their sight for even a second to tell my wife anything. Don’t care whose over, don’t care how much people think I’m weird, if they in water, I’m the human hawk. My kids are the best swimmers you seen for their age, been swimming from 4 years old. Don’t care, I’m still watching. Also, you need to teach kids how to save each other if something happens. I’ve even taught them to save adults if they collapse as well. Do as I say, X. I’m dad.

@singingbirth yes, they do. When we had pool parties at our house, I would specify certain adults to constantly watch the pool. I regularly took headcounts and scanned the pool. a party of more 8 strong swimmers, 1 adult is fine, a mixed group - 2 to 3 watchers.

Just spent two weeks at Florida beaches. Here’s what I observed: - Tons of kids - Economy is in full bloom. Lots of yachts in the water - Most people are obese - Restaurants packed and it’s not even June - People drive slower than people in Seattle… - Tons of Christians - Gen Z definitely has not given up alcohol. Local beach bars were insanely packed. Drinks flowing! - Not a single Tesla - Zero tattoos - Lots of new construction including thousands of beachfront custom homes - Crazy high number of families using an expensive photographer to do beach photoshoots Recession cancelled!

So Delta moved my seat without asking me. I'm standing in the airport and I get a notification that I've been reassigned to a different comfort plus seat. I paid for the seat I was in specifically so I could sit next to my boyfriend who also paid for his seat specifically so he could sit next to me. I walk up to the counter and the agent tells me they moved me because another couple wanted to sit together. I'm sorry what. I am also a couple. Who also wants to sit together. Move me back. There was a whole discussion about this but eventually she did it. Get on the plane and the couple in question is right in front of me. The gate agent looks at them and says loudly so sorry we couldn't get you seated together and then turns and gives ME a stink eye when I scan my boarding pass. Me. The person who simply asked to keep the seat I had already purchased. Then the guy........

You can call Delta and have an agent link your reservations together as traveling companions and your seats will be kept together. This is also very important if your flight is delayed or cancelled and has to be rebooked, you don’t want to end up on different flights. My wife and I have separate FF accounts tied to our AMEX cards and I have to do this for most of our trips, except when I book it all on my account. I think for a trip we just completed yesterday I was able to do this last fall via online chat. You need to have both of your reservation ids. Without doing this the agent has no idea you are traveling together when you are on separate bookings.
