Well, it looks like I got that promotion I wanted since I start training for the new position after the New Year!

I was loved unconditionally by my parents and I have loved unconditionally. I don't understand parents who reject their son or daughter: certainly, not because of their sexuality or political beliefs. I try to understand the thought processes of others, but I don't understand

@BCAuthor21 It genuinely depends on the story and if it fits with the overall narrative for the characters. I guess that doesn't really answer the question, but for me, spice is fine if it serves the story. If it is there just for shock value, no thanks.

@Dom_Dreams I think there are some decent principles in the Bible. I think the problem isn't the Bible, it's the fact that many who claim to be Christian don't seem to have that great of reading comprehension since they stand in opposition to most of what Jesus is said to have believed.

@ria_thewolf I'm on track, if I stay on schedule, to be in that stage at about 50. (I'm not far off of there)

Is anyone else out in the query trenches right now also in their thirties or over? This is not a dig at the younger crowd at all. I just often feel like I’m too old to just be starting out. Which I know is not true. But sometimes it feels isolating to not know many peers my age.

@HamzeRami Raising 3 children who did not get in trouble with the law, finished high school and either college or trade school, and avoided substance addiction to become parents in their own right. THAT was HARD.

@Nickyshearsby22 Yes. Because finishing a book, and having the courage to put ourselves out there IS success in, and of, itself.

@Rorangarrowson5 The relationship with their father is a key part of the story, so I'll say - complicated. It is a journey of an adult child of a recovering alcoholic reconnecting with her father once he became sober.

@megannn_lynne Whenever I feel discouraged I remember the teacher who told me I was too stupid to ever learn to read and write. Granted, I was functionally illiterate till my late teens but...she WILL get a signed copy one day.

Whenever I feel hopeless about writing my book, I remember the high school English teacher who snorted & said sarcastically “Send me a signed copy” when I expressed my desire to become a writer. I am going to send that bitch a signed copy if it’s the last thing I do <3

@Mona_Lazar_ I had planned to, but today I found out that we're having a serious increase in demand on the resources of our healthcare system, and as one of the people who try to manage that - I get to work extra days AND hours instead. But, I still have Christmas off, so far.

@jdkingwrites What took you so long? I always talk to my plans. They reward me by growing beautiful, and with lovely flowers.

I love my day job. I find it rewarding and meaningful. That said, some days it feels like fighting a war that I cannot win to get the most marginalized of people proper medical and mental health care. Today, I'm tired.
