I just received a heartfelt message from my student. This will make we want to teach another decade.💛💙

Summer has been a whirlwind so far! I began my job search a week ago. @WoodlawnHS_BCPS. Then, last week, I met Baltimore City's @MayorBMScott He stopped in @OldMajorBmore to perform during karaoke. 🎙️🎶🎵

I want to thank my beloved sister @OldMajorBmore for her love & support. She has been there for me listening to all of my teacher stories. She rode with me every day to Baltimore during and after the COVID-19 crisis. She probably knows all the names of my students, & some staff.

Thanks to my Department Chair, co-teachers, & kids.

It's time to bid farewell to my school community. Five years went by quickly, including the dreaded pandemic years. I want to thank 3 very special educators for my tenure @LansdowneMS, Mrs. Frazier, @BMurray_LMS , & @BCPSESOL. I wish my former colleagues a great new school year!!

It is that time of year when we send our rising ninth graders off to high school. Yesterday, 8th grade students practiced for the closing ceremony (promotion) at Lansdowne High. @SeymourTeach @LansdowneMS

Please join me in congratulating my Homeroom (and Mrs. Khan's) on a perfect attendance day. This is remarkable for my rising 9th graders this late in the school year! For some reason they were super excited. We have such little time left with them so it's good to see ALL of them.

Thanks to @BCPSESOLWelcome @BCPSESOL for allowing our kids and other schools to have authentic experiences outside of school. The mission of Soccer Without Borders is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change in the lives of underserved youth in the USA and internationally.

Thanks to our Coach @max_graves for all of his team's efforts with our children this year. He and his team of coaches at SWB work tirelessly with our students with tutoring, honing their soccer skills, and mentoring them. Overall, it is an excellent program.

This past Friday, I finally got to see our @LansdowneMS students in our @soccerwoborders after school program for Multilingual learners. They played their matches at Patterson Park in Baltimore City, as customary. It was important for me to see at least one game with my students.

✔️So many teachers work multiple jobs to take care of the financial needs of their families. ✔️Teacher salaries do not compare to other professions. ✔️Teachers are unemployed during the summer months, unless they get a summer school job or something outside of teaching.
