I completely agree HOWEVER the vast majority of excellent palliative care is provided not in hospices/ specialist services but in homes by amazing DISTRICT NURSES, the unsung sheros here. yet their numbers have been decimated and working arrangements trashed. RESTORE THE DNs.

Thanks to @pauline4glasgow for raising our concerns about the proposed walk-in clinics and the impact they may have on health inequalities. Evidence from England showed they do not reduce demand, are used by relatively healthy individuals and may worsen health inequity.

PSA screening media coverage is currently very poor. Various charities are not helping but instead adding to the confusion and hype. The Times today carries another high profile individual story of how they were "absolutely" saved by screening with PSA testing.

Fragmenting care costs more+ lower quality care. meantime qualified GPs can't get jobs in practices (complex but increased costs of running practices, underfunding /instability). far better to invest in stable core NHS GP (and read evidence on walk in services!)
