Mike Lawrence "Larry" Kennedy, who appears in Michael Proctor's text messages, is a direct link to Jen McCabe's friend group.
"Larry" is married to Meg Kennedy, one of Jen McCabe's close friends. In the summer of 2024, after Michael Proctor was suspended over the hateful and misogynistic remarks he made about Karen Read following his drinking escapade with Kevin Albert, Meg sent an email to numerous Massachusetts officials defending Proctor.
She, as a woman, had no issue defending a man who made vile, misogynistic comments about Karen Read. Are we also supposed to believe she had no idea how her own husband spoke about people who were not white? Are we supposed to believe he never talked like this around her?
I find that highly doubtful.
It's also worth noting that after these messages became public, Larry appeared to scrub much of his online presence from the internet.
And before anyone dismisses this with, "Those messages are so old," ask yourself why that even matters. Racism doesn't come with an expiration date. These weren't edgy jokes from a teenager. These were grown adults openly celebrating racist rhetoric. The age of the messages doesn't erase the mindset they reveal. If anything, the rush to hide them once they became public says far more than the timestamp ever could.
At some point, people need to stop shielding men who repeatedly show you exactly who they are. Misogyny and racism are not personality quirks or character flaws to be explained away or protected. They should be exposed, condemned, and remembered.
