✅ Step-by-Step 1099 Income System There's some nuances of course, but below is a good framework I like to start with: 1. Get the Basics in Place Open a separate checking account just for 1099 income. Consider a separate credit card for business expenses (keeps records clean). Download a mileage tracker app if you’ll use your car for work (not for commuting, only for traveling between sites. 2. Track Income Every time you get paid, deposit it into your business checking account. Keep digital or paper copies of all 1099 forms (you’ll receive these by January 31 each year). If a client doesn’t issue a 1099 but you earned money, you still have to report it. 3. Track Expenses Log every expense that’s ordinary & necessary for your work (supplies, professional dues, travel, continuing education, software, marketing). Save receipts. Yes, digital copies are fine (apps like Expensify, QuickBooks, or even Google Drive folders work). Once a month, reconcile your bank/credit card with your expense tracker. 4. Handle Taxes Rule of thumb: Set aside 30-35% of your income in a dedicated “tax savings” account. Pay quarterly estimated taxes (April 15, June 15, September 15, January 15). Hire out tax filing. Don't try and DIY this. 5. Plan for Retirement Open a self-employed retirement plan: SEP IRA (easy, flexible, good for variable income). Solo 401(k) (more admin, but allows larger contributions if your income is high). Decide on contributions when cash flow is predictable. And it can often be funded at year-end. 6. Protect Yourself Get the right insurance coverage (professional and personal liability, disability, health). If income grows, ask about whether an S-Corp election makes sense for tax savings, if it's worth the hassle. 7. Keep It Simple & Consistent Weekly: Update your income/expenses. Monthly: Move 30-35% of income into your tax account. Quarterly: Make estimated tax payments. Yearly: Meet with tax pro and financial planner to review and plan ahead. 👉 If you follow this system, your taxes, deductions, and retirement savings won’t sneak up on you. Instead you’ll be keeping pace, and you won't be worrying about what you don't know that you don't know!

Breaking: The AAP has released its own evidence-based vaccine schedule, after recent federal changes prioritized politics over evidence. Americans have long trusted their pediatricians. We ask for your trust again on this. Science first. Kids first. healthychildren.org/English/safety…

Re-sharing this here. We give a thorough breakdown of what's in this bill as far as kids/families are concerned. Need to make some minor updates with the changes from the Senate bill (Medicaid cuts got worse, SNAP cuts a bit less bad) youtu.be/2osCDggXhMY?si…

It’s not Medicaid cuts, it’s just work requirements! It’s not voter suppression, it’s just a literacy test!

We won’t forget those who celebrated, smiled, and hugged, while millions lost access to healthcare and food was taken out of the mouths of children.

I'm Dr. Annie Andrews. I’m a pediatrician, not a politician. But either way I know how to handle people who are full of sh*t. Today I am announcing my campaign for US Senate to replace Lindsey Graham. RT if you're with me.

US Citizen children have reportedly been removed from the country during the deportation of their mothers, despite having willing caregivers who the mothers wanted to leave the children with and without the parents being able to connect with legal counsel. youtu.be/Fg8nmBAjzYY?si…
