Suicide is now the LEADING cause of death for US medical residents. We are losing 500 physicians a year. That is an entire med school class. Stop demanding "resilience" from doctors and start fixing the system. Tie executive bonuses to wellness, not just RVUs. Link to the recent episode is in the comments 👇

Posters for Jess's Rule are now being rolled out to GP surgeries. Inspired by the legacy of Jess Brady, who died tragically from cancer could have been caught earlier, Jess's Rule, is part of our commitment to support GPs to help patients get the right care sooner.

This week is #Type2DiabetesPreventionWeek 🔵 How effective are referrals to the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme? We funded research to find out, discovering that a referral reduces someone’s chance of developing type 2 diabetes by 20%. The study also made some suggestions for improving the programme further. Women in medicine: - Earn less. - Are less likely to be in leadership. - Have fewer research opportunities. - Spend more hours on domestic responsibilities. Yet, they still spend more time with patients and provide better care. The bias against women needs to END.

With every Geopolitical move, this Physician is just calculating the lasting impact on health of humans-wars ,displacement, children surviving this chaos, mental health. And how much more the health systems will have to work to stabilise health of the human race. All of us are in it
