aegis of @TataMemorialCtr will be upgraded. He said the initiative will include the installation of state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment to provide advanced radiation treatment to cancer patients locally. Marking this milestone, an MoU signed between #TMCMumbai and #GMCKathua,

with Director @docgulia representing @HBCHRC_Punjab. @docgulia, while sharing details, said, "A team from @HBCHRC_Punjab, including the Heads of Departments of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, and Palliative Care, visited #GMCKathua on 11 April 2026 to

review the ongoing efforts to develop a cancer care facility at #GMCKathua. @HBCHRC_Punjab has been guiding #GMCKathua for the past two years in developing this facility. In Phase I, essential services such as day care and diagnostic services have been established." @docgulia

further added, "This visit also served as a review and a push to initiate Phase II, during which additional facilities such as radiotherapy, and the expansion of Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology departments, were discussed. An MoU has also been signed to strengthen

collaboration between the two institutions. This partnership will enhance service delivery, enabling patients from Kathua to be referred to @HBCHRC_Punjab for treatment, preventive care, palliative care, and manpower training, including the education of students." @DAEIndia

Big Shout-out to Great work done by Dr Vikas Jagtap and Dr Caleb Harris . ( both trained from @TataMemorial ) Both of them are doing great work at NEIGRIHMAS ( North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences) at Shillong Meghalya . Inspite being very short on Faculty, both of them are running a great Oncology Program with Lots of enthusiasm and energy. I had pleasure to visit and witness the great infrastructure they have . ( state of the art radiation machine and 4 D CT scan and all latest surgical equipment - mediastial scope ; hipec machine and Kits ) It is central government funded institution with highly subsidized Oncology care. They have 250 bedded -6 story - seperate regional cancer center bundling ready and it will be fully functional this year. All they need are qualified oncologists ( Medical , Radiation and surgical) to join them . This place has beautiful campus ( 232 acer of land ) and lovely hilly backyard , clean air with waterfalls in rainy seasons 🙂. In a significant boost to advanced cancer diagnostics, a team of senior officials from the @IndianOilcl inaugurated a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla (3T) MRI scanner facility at @HBCHRC_Punjab on 2nd April, 2026. The MRI scanner has been installed under IOCL's #CSR initiative.
