@DoctaGrip Do you know @SaraNAhmed’s work? dukeupress.edu/on-being-inclu… She talks about this dynamic and wow does it happen often in my (way more junior) experience. You’re not alone. @BlackFeministHS also had a great discussion about this kind of discrimination at a conference a few years back.

I feel so uncomfortable with this. Yes my comments and questions might lead to changes, but I am the one left exposed and at risk of retaliation and having these false narratives presented about me. Are there any other folks who have dealt or are dealing with this? Strategies?

Im grateful to have the courage to say hard things that validate other people’s experiences but at what expense? Then I’m seen as this “dissenter” “disruptor” or chaos creator causing conflict where there previously was none (only because no one said anything).
