Sales and marketing company @AusInteractiveM are advertising an unpaid internship on Gumtree involving help with reception and general administration. The company has several negative reviews on Google and Glassdoor + some suspicious looking positive ones. gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brisbane-…

@dodgyinternship @hoxlp A company with only twitter 3 followers recruiting for social media marketing internships sets off immediate red flags if I'm honest.

Recruitment agency @hoxlp is at again. They recently advertised this social media marketing internship hosted by an anonymous company running 3-4 days a week for up to 6 months. @hoxlp charge the intern $1100 for organising this placement. au.indeed.com/m/viewjob?jk=e…

It's sad but it's true – paying to do an internship is not explicitly illegal in Australia. Here's an article from 2018 covering one of the companies involved in this practice: smh.com.au/politics/feder…

@SebStarcevic @toast_creative I've said it before and I'll say it again, the most dodgy internships are often the 'paid' (i.e. below minimum wage) ones.

Sydney agency @toast_creative is looking for interns (including graduates) willing to complete a 3 month internship working 3-5 days a week. These interns need the ability to work autonomously and will be paid $50 a day. bit.ly/2XhdahZ

Beauty brand Salt by Hendrix recently started advertising a paid graphic design position. Just days later, the same company began advertising the exact same role but as an internship.
