@AMP86793444 The man who ruined his career with unnecessary body and bat movements. Owais Shah was a fine player but messed up the mind. Could have played a decent amount of Test cricket if not for those silly moves at the crease.

This is what Babar Azam should do. He should stop playing meaningless T20 leagues and get hooked with a county, especially with a Test series coming up in England this summer. Babar must look to extend his Test and ODIs career. espncricinfo.com/story/ipl-2026…

“In the heat of the moment, they thought I did it on purpose. I didn’t. If Fred Goodall were in Hollywood, he’d have picked up an Oscar. I’m six-foot-six and 230 pounds — if I’d meant to hit him, he wouldn’t have gotten up.” Those were the words Collin Croft used years later to reflect on one of cricket’s most infamous flashpoints — an incident that unfolded 46 years ago in Christchurch during the second Test between West Indies and New Zealand, a match forever remembered as the “Croft–Goodall Test.” The tension had been building long before that collision. New Zealand had already stunned the visitors by winning the first Test, but the West Indies left that game feeling aggrieved by a string of umpiring calls they believed had gone against them. Frustration boiled over when Michael Holding famously kicked the stumps — a moment that hinted at the simmering anger within the touring side. At the centre of the storm was local umpire Fred Goodall, who stood throughout the series. By the time the second Test reached New Zealand’s second innings, nerves were already frayed. Then came the moment that would define the match. A loud appeal from Croft against Hadlee was rejected, and by now the fast bowler’s frustration was clear for everyone to see. Booed by sections of the crowd and increasingly irritated by decisions going against his side, Croft exchanged heated words with Goodall. The umpire spoke to captain Clive Lloyd, hoping to cool the situation — but events soon escalated instead. Croft responded with a barrage of bouncers. When Goodall called him for a no-ball, ruling that he was bowling from too wide of the crease, the bowler’s irritation only deepened. The next delivery was dramatic. Charging in closer to the stumps, Croft collided with Goodall in his follow-through — and still completed the delivery. To many watching, it looked like a deliberate act born out of raw frustration, though Croft would later deny any intent. Goodall once again complained to Lloyd, later telling reporters that while he had faced plenty of verbal treatment from players in his career, this crossed a different line. Lloyd, however, allowed Croft to continue, and the match eventually drifted to a tense draw. The controversy lingered long after the final ball. The third Test passed with far less drama and also ended drawn, but the damage was done. The dominant West Indies — rattled by disputes, tension, and a hostile series — walked away having lost 1–0 to New Zealand, a result that felt as much shaped by emotion and controversy as by cricket itself.

@amittalwalkar Classic heat-of-the-moment stuff! Croft always claimed it was accidental because of his size, but that video... man, it still looks like he was just frustrated after those dodgy calls. WI were boiling after losing the 1st Test. One of cricket's wildest on-field meltdowns.

That's true. Hitting a six or two off Ambrose was mighty difficult.
CricCapsule@Irfanooq

@dohagames @originalvicky Marshall was a more complete bowler. He not only had serious pace but also mastery over swing and cut. Ambrose due to his height used to get extra bounce especially on a good length. It was very difficult to score off him.
