2025-2026 DISTRICT 2 CLASS 4A BOYS’ CHAMPIONS 🏆 Scranton Prep Cavaliers FINAL SCORE #2-seeded Scranton Prep 68 #1-seeded Dallas 52 @ScrPrepSports takes down No. 1 for its eighth district title since 2017. Dallas entered as both the No. 1 seed in Class 4A and the No. 1 ranked team in the @NEPAHoops Power Rankings (Vol. 8), riding a 14-game winning streak along with a WVC Division 1 title and back-to-back WVC Tournament championships. For much of the first half, the Mountaineers looked the part. Dallas built momentum with a 16-3 run in the second quarter and carried a 38-33 lead into halftime behind @Tyce_Mason’s interior presence and @pat_flanagan10's scoring. Dallas also owned the glass in the second quarter, creating separation with second-chance opportunities. Then the game shifted. @Chickyskoff28 delivered the turning point — closing the first half with a three and then scoring the next 12 points to give Prep 15 straight. By the middle of the third quarter, the Cavaliers had flipped the deficit into a lead and seized control of the pace. Skoff finished with 28 points (9-of-15 FG, 3-of-5 from three, 7-of-8 FT), along with 4 assists and 4 steals in a complete performance. @doherty_packy (@wes_mbball commit) added 20 points and 11 rebounds, while @MaxMcGrathh contributed 9. Dallas was led by Pat Flanagan (18 points, 8 rebounds) and Tyce Mason (10 points, 8 rebounds). Joey Nocito dished out 7 assists and Kael Berry recorded 4 steals. After trailing at the break, Scranton Prep closed with poise and physicality to secure the championship. The Cavaliers improve to 9-1 in championship games at Mohegan Arena and add another title to their sustained district dominance. No. 1 seed. No. 1 ranked. Taken down. Another banner for Prep & @lreagan. #NEPAHoops 🏀

🏆 CAVALIERS CLOSE STRONG, CLAIM 74TH LYNETT TITLE — FIRST SINCE 2022 🟣🟡 Scranton Prep weathered a physical second half and a late Dunmore push to secure a 77–63 win Monday night at the Lackawanna College Student Union, capturing its first Lynett Memorial Tournament championship since 2022. After taking a 34–29 lead into halftime, Prep opened the third quarter with purpose. @CharlieSkoff1 set the tone inside, while the Cavaliers absorbed Dunmore’s early surge and answered every run. Despite foul trouble and trips to the line for the Bucks, Prep maintained control behind poise, depth, and timely shot-making. Dunmore made it a one-possession game midway through the third, but Prep closed the quarter strong to take a 49–44 advantage into the fourth. From there, the Cavaliers separated. Freshman Jimmy Doherty knocked down two momentum-swinging threes, Max McGrath finished through traffic, and Packy Doherty took over late — attacking gaps, converting in transition, and sealing the game at the line. Prep stretched the lead to double digits midway through the fourth and never looked back, closing the final minutes with composure to pull away. FINAL Scranton Prep (5-2) — 77 Dunmore (8-1) — 63 @ScrPrepSports finished 15-of-28 from the line and 3-of-8 from three, while Dunmore struggled to find consistency, shooting 33% from the field despite multiple late looks. Championship Game Standouts @doherty_packy (Sr.) — steady second half, late control @Brody_martin12 (Sr.) — defensive presence, playmaking, rebounding @MaxMcGrathh (Jr.) — key finishes, energy on both ends @jimmy_doherty4 (Fr.) — clutch shooting off the bench 🏅 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Tony Battaglia — Scranton (Sr.) Jimmy Clark — Dunmore (Sr.) @CJThompson_23 — Holy Cross (Jr.) Packy Doherty — Scranton Prep (Sr.) Brody Martin — Scranton Prep (Sr.) 🏆 TOURNAMENT MVP Packy Doherty — Scranton Prep (Sr.) A complete team effort, timely execution, and championship composure lift the Cavaliers back to the top of the Lynett. 📸🎥 Highlights & more coverage coming #NEPAHoops 🏀 @lreagan

PREP CRUISES PAST DELAWARE VALLEY ON ITS SILENT NIGHT‼️🌛 @ScrPrepSports (2-2, 1-0) opened LIAA Division I play in dominant fashion, cruising past visiting Delaware Valley (4-2, 0-1) 60–29 on its Silent Night. The Cavaliers limited the Warriors to just 18 points over the first three quarters and carried a 30-point halftime lead, setting the tone early and never looking back. Scranton Prep’s balance stood out, as every player contributed impactful minutes and the entire bench saw action, making a statement before the holiday break with only four games under its belt. Senior 6’2” CG and @wes_mbball commit @doherty_packy led all scorers with 21 points, 16 of which came in the first half, while also knocking down two three-pointers. Sophomore 5’10” PG @Chickyskoff28 added 13 points with two triples of his own. Senior @brody_martin12 made his presence felt defensively, creating turnovers and protecting the rim with multiple blocks. Juniors @MaxMcGrathh and Liam Haggerty chipped in six points apiece, freshman @jimmy_doherty4 scored five, while juniors Alex Scanlan and Luke Flanagan added four and three points, respectively. Junior @CharlieSkoff1 found ways to disrupt the ball, and wasn’t afraid to get in and under the rim. For Delaware Valley, senior Colin McGarvey paced the Warriors with seven points, while sophomore Trey Newton finished with five. With the Lynett Tournament tipping off next weekend, the Cavaliers will look to carry this momentum forward. #NEPAhoops 🏀 @lreagan
