You go to a clinic in Lagos.
Then a hospital in Abuja.
Then a specialist in Port Harcourt.
Each time, you start from scratch. New forms. Old stories retold. No shared record.
This is what the absence of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and interoperability looks like in practice.
An EHR is simply your medical history, digitized, organized, and accessible to any authorized clinician treating you.
One record. Everywhere you go.
That's not a luxury. That's basic continuity of care.
And we deserve it in Nigeria

El-ROI answered.
This would have been impossible if not for family and my incredible mentors.
This win is for you.

When I first wanted to transition into Digital Health, I was highly interested but completely lost. So, I slid into the DMs of several industry leaders asking them to "guide me."
They all asked me the same questions:
"What are you already doing?"
"How exactly do you want to contribute?"
I had no clarity. I couldn't answer. To them, I looked like an unserious person just jumping on a tech trend. So, the conversations died.
I had to face a hard truth: I was bringing zero value to the table.
So, I went back to the drawing board. I stopped asking for handouts and started doing the work. I researched the field, took courses, and dedicated my research project to studying digital health adoption right here in Nigeria.
Doing the work gave me clarity. It gave me a voice. I started creating content and sharing my findings publicly.
The result? Those exact same people who couldn't give me their time back then are now noticing my work. They engage with my content, respect my voice, and even send opportunities my way.
I realized they weren't bad or arrogant people. Professionals simply do not have the time to invest in someone who lacks direction.
As a beginner, your "value" isn't 10 years of experience. Your value is your curiosity, your execution, and your initiative.
Don't just ask for a seat at the table. Build your value, and they will pull out a chair for you.

Value attracts value. Nobody will mentor you or give you their time if you don't have value.

Excited to share that my first ever case report has been published! 🎉
This paper highlights a rare paediatric trauma case and the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for diaphragmatic injuries.

We’ve always used printed out paper for most of our activities but we’re finally introducing our own coloring books and crayons. Our goal is for EVERY patient admitted to have a copy 🥺 Link in our bio to support 🫶

New year reintroduction 👋🏾. I am Roseline Adewuyi. I hold a PhD in French Literature, with a graduate concentration in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, so critical analysis of books, films, songs, and popular culture forms a core part of my work.
I am also a feminist activist of over 10 years (I genuinely can’t believe it has been that long), and I lead an initiative, The Roseline Initiative, which has been featured by the United Nations in recognition of the work we have done over the years, ensuring that educational institutions become spaces where gender stereotypes are unlearned, and where girls are empowered to thrive.
Over time, I have also been privileged to access several fully funded global opportunities, which have exposed me to different countries, networks, and ideas. I have come to realize that many people don’t lack potential, they simply lack access to the right information. I am passionate about democratizing information, especially for young people navigating education, growth, and purpose.
You will always find me sharing insights at the intersection of higher education, gender advocacy, academics, opportunities, social impact, personal development, and the occasional personal musing. As a core introvert, social media is one of the few spaces where I am truly outspoken. 😊
If you have a speaking engagement this year around gender issues, fully funded opportunities, social impact, youth development, or academic growth, I am available and open to travel for these engagements. I also facilitate workshops and training programs, support brand partnerships, offer translation work (French to English & English to French), and welcome collaborations fitting with my work as a literary scholar and gender advocate.
Please feel free to reach out via email: adewuyiroseline@gmail.com if it is within these areas or beyond them. If you believe I am a good fit, I am happy to explore it.
Merci beaucoup 😊

I became a medical doctor today, but I'm stepping away from the traditional path.
Why?
Because I believe healthcare products should be built by healthcare professionals.
I am making it happen @slainelabs
Your RT will help us find startups & clinics that need us now 🙏
