Imagine Greece claiming Constantinople and then asking Turkey to 'go to court' to solve the 'dispute.' Sounds crazy, right? That’s exactly what Turkey is doing with Greek islands. Sovereignty is not for sale or arbitration.

@Nomas_821 Greece only wants to take EEZ to court. Not other issues. Athens pretends that rest are non issues. But they are issues, and they have been issues for decades. Take all of them to court. Solve it. Simple.

EU will never be stupid enough to agree to those conditions as long as Turkey is threatening an EU member. Greece will not disarm the Aegean islands and we will never recognize the occupied part of Cyprus.

Good news... Despite Ursula's rabid-dog attacks, #EU-Türkiye relations can still be salvaged. If the EU acts fast, Türkiye's complete and irreversible shift to the East can be avoided and Türkiye can offer Europe long-term security against Russia, a strong manufacturing base, strategic depth in the MENA/Caucasus/Central Asia region and stability in the face of global crises in exchange for the following: ✅ EU membership & visa-free travel ✅ #CustomsUnion restructuring (wanted by both sides) ✅ Recognition of KKTC/TRNC as a sovereign Turkish state on the island of #Cyprus, distinct from the Greek-occupied south. ✅ European capitals cease and desist all support, open and covert, to all anti-Turkish terrorist organizations such as the PKK/YPG and FETÖ. ✅ Recognition and preservation of the national identities of 6+ million European Turks living in Germany, France, Netherlands, Denmark, etc. ✅ Full, unrestricted and equal integration of the robust Turkish #defense industry in European armament programs like SAFE, ReArm Europe, PESCO, European Defense Fund, etc. ✅ #Brussels stops interfering in Türkiye's internal affairs, economic policies, as well as democratic & judicial processes. ✅ EU-member states must clear all military assets to be transferred to South Cyprus with the KKTC/TRNC first. ✅ Greece immediately disarms all the Aegean islands that must remain unarmed by Treaty and permanently reduces territorial waters & airspace to 3nm. Very reasonable requests and they all work directly to Europe's advantage. Do this now, and perhaps Europe as we know it will still get to see the end of the century. Fail to win over the friendship of the Turks; and perish.

They’re supposed to be allies, yet they’re locked in one of the world’s most volatile rivalries.
For decades, Greece and Turkey have clashed over the Aegean Sea -- islands, airspace, territorial waters, and energy riches. Turkey claims that many Greek islands near its coast should be demilitarized under old treaties. Greece rejects this and continues strengthening defenses, including recent Patriot missile deployments on islands like Karpathos.
Add Cyprus, divided since 1974, migration rows, and frequent airspace violations and naval standoffs. Ankara issues sweeping NAVTEX warnings; Athens responded by calling them illegal. Rhetoric heats up regularly, with Turkey warning against “fait accompli” while Greece asserts sovereign rights.
One miscalculation in the Aegean could drag NATO into crisis... or worse.
In a region already on fire, this ancient rivalry risks exploding into open conflict.
How long can diplomacy hold the line? I wonder.

There is Greek sovereignty in the Aegean and Greek & Cypriot sovereign rights in EastMed, illegally claimed by Turkey.

In the "simple" #Aegean, the median line is measured from the mainland! Islands on the wrong side of the median line, i.e., closer to the Anatolian coast, have a "0" effect on the EEZ/CS!
