Results and performances have not been good for Coventry City this season. But history shows that you’d back Mark Robins to get you out of trouble. Not sack him. Ridiculous decision which will be highlighted when other clubs come in for one of the most respected managers in the game. Coventry have spent money this season but owner Doug King, who’s impressed until today, needs to have a think about all the current headlines about Viktor Gyokeres. Who believed in the striker when many didn’t? Robins. Who helped develop him? Robins. He’s a good coach and a good manager just suffering a difficult period. He’s taken Coventry on an incredible journey. He was a penalty away from getting to the Premier League in 2023. He was an offside decision away from getting to the FA Cup final last season. Robins has done so much for Coventry. He took care of them even when they were homeless. Robins deserves better than to be treated like this. King, to his credit, is meeting fans next week to explain/justify his bewildering decision. But King’s choice as Robins’ successor had better hit the ground running. #PUSB
