‘We’ve set a target that by end of 2027 no school in Ghana should run the double track system.’
President John Dramani Mahama says government is investing in roads, water, electricity and education infrastructure in the Northern Region, including a 300-transformer replacement project.
He added that classroom expansion and school infrastructure projects are underway to fully eliminate the double-track system nationwide by end of 2027.

If I keep listening to this man I will lose my mind.
Please stop talking before I start a campaign to make you President of Federation of African States.
Man is moving like Nkrumah.
@Citi973 Such a useless and loose talk from a President. Did you start your E block in phases? Are you building your so called 24hr markets in phases?
China constructed 100 hospitals in 3 months during Covid time. Indeed, you are incompetent and shortsighted. Deadgoat
President John Dramani Mahama has assured that government will prioritise completing the 35 Agenda 111 hospitals nearing completion, with budgetary allocations planned for additional phases.
He noted that the previous administration should have implemented the project in phases instead of undertaking all the hospitals at once.

@Manasseh_Azure How does this make sense?
How about us? The politicians, chiefs and big men who brought them in, sold land to them and allow them to destroy it. How about those people? Why won’t our great grandchildren demand reparations from them instead?
When the NDC was in opposition, sole sourcing was a sin. Now in government, it is a sacrament.
Let me give you the numbers the NDC does not want you to hear.
Under NPP, 1km of feeder road cost an average of $550,000. Under the NDC's Big Push, the same type of feeder road now costs $1.2 MILLION per kilometre. That is more than double. For what?
Ato Forson signed off on GHS 51 billion (5% of Ghana's entire GDP) for 50 contracts. Every single one sole-sourced. Not one competitive bid from the party who claimed to cut/cancel sole sourcing. Not one.
So when Sammy Gyamfi says there is no evidence of inflation, the maths is right here. Ghanaians are not fools.
@Citi973 And yet the same people make noise that they are the same as men.
If you truly want equality then let men contest you and win so that you can call yourself equal to the men.
You don’t call for special treatment and privileges and turn around later to say you want equality
The Chairperson of the Women’s Caucus in Parliament, Comfort Doyoe, has warned that men who contest against female candidates in the 2028 elections will be publicly named and shamed.
She raised concerns over Ghana’s low ranking in women’s representation (149th out of 188) and called for deliberate action to boost female participation in governance.

@thinkingaloudjy@Manasseh_Azure Yea right, let blame NPP for every problem in Ghana. President Rawlings ruled Ghana for 19 years. What did he do for them ? Mahama was vice president and president in all 8 years, what did he do for them? Mmoaaa, use your brain
@Manasseh_Azure We must blame npp for wasting our precious 8 years coz they did absofuckinglutely NOTHING in those 8 years. The elephant is way smarter than the members of that silly npp party
ECG Ghana, this isn’t funny anymore I'm tired. I paid for my electricity myself. I’m not married and no man is supporting me, stop stealing my credit.
— Lopez aka Jr. Odo Broni, calls out ECG.
@lordcudjoe Of course, why would it be a scandal to you. You are in the government WhatsApp group and you are enjoying the booties that comes with it.
Keep enjoying, there is time for everything
This is not a scandal, my dear Lady Vim! This is arithmetic at play. You cannot give out what you don't have even if it was promised! The alternative being floated, which is to borrow and pay farmers the shortfall suggested by those who borrowed for many silly projects like the cathedral and overpriced dugouts and Covid-19 parties and in the process left the country in junk-rated and decorated economic stitches is a highway to hell's kitchen!! Heck! They even left a GHS 32billlion hole in the cocoa sector!
That said, I believe two things must happen. COCOBOD is a huge drain on farmers due! It is a behemoth gobbling up 30 % of all cocoa forex receipts in dodgy administrative cost and the apparent interventions to guarantee good yields. We must downsize COCOBOD to a third of its size and restructured with world class recruitment process in the appointment of senior management!
Second, we should simply adopt what obtains in Brazil .As Sitsofe Mensah recommends...
"
The Brazil model is a fascinating contrast to the systems in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire because it operates on a decentralized, free-market basis. 🇧🇷
Instead of a central government body setting a fixed price for the entire season, prices are determined by the daily global market and local demand.
Key Features of the Brazil Model
- Direct Market Access: Farmers or cooperatives sell directly to processors or exporters. This means when world prices are high, they see that money in their pockets immediately. 💰
- Quality Premiums: Because it’s a competitive market, farmers who produce higher-quality or "fine" cocoa can negotiate much higher prices than the standard bulk rate. 💎
- Risk and Reward: While farmers get the "highs" of the market, they also face the "lows" without a government cushion. They often use financial tools like hedging or forward contracts on their own to lock in prices. 📉
- Domestic Processing: Brazil has a massive internal chocolate industry. Local factories compete with exporters for the beans, which naturally keeps local prices higher to ensure the factories stay supplied. 🏭
This "market mindset" shifts the responsibility from the state to the individual producer or cooperative.
In Ghana, the government takes on the risk but also keeps a portion of the value for "services"; in Brazil, the farmer keeps more of the value but carries all the risk. ⚖️"
@Real_Boss16@DrJJZaato That’s a lie. Do you remember the name PC Appiah Ofori?, he was an NPP MP who stood against NPP/Kuffour’s government. If you want to be fair then this thing started from the NPP
@DrJJZaato This matter is not one of demonstrating courage. It is, rather, a long-established norm within the NDC party for certain members to speak truth to our leadership. This stands in stark contrast to your party, the NPP.
I wonder why people are so fixated on advanced degrees, especially PhDs leading so many to acquiring questionable degrees. Now, I have to say, I don't have a PhD, even though I got into one in one of UK's prestigious private universities on a part-time basis with an undergraduate degree and with a generous scholarship ( I didn't conclude due to demands of work and other pressures and ultimately put it on hold.l don't intend going on with it, but you never know.
Now having said that it does not mean all who have PhDs are usually the smartest or insulated from saying stupid things such as the IMF projected a particular growth rate two years ago and when that came to pass, it shouldn't be credited to the shepherding actions of capable heads and hands of a government. They could simply have chosen to do damage by say appointing 126 ministers to ruin the economy.
So you see, if a PhD holder apparently competent in his area of expertise, economics that is, says what l alluded to above, should we not be worried about his credentials?
Well, the gentleman in question lists one of achievements to have advised Dr.Bawumia on economic thinking. How did that end up? Curiously though, both the gentleman, Dr. Bawumia and moi, went to the same private University. 😆😆
@GhArmedForces A whole military that couldn’t perform risk assessment to manage and prevent this incident. Tweeaaa.
The military completely failed in its duty as a security force.
But as usual, no one will be punished and no one will be penalized for the loss of these lives
The President and Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), John Dramani Mahama has paid a visit to the injured applicants of the 2025/2026 GAF recruitment at the 37 Military Hospital on Wednesday, 12 November 2025.

@S_OkudzetoAblak What kind of deception is this? If you have “first ever same day delivery”, then why do you also have “nationwide delivery”?
Who wouldn’t take his/her passport same day but rather will wait for you to deliver it to hi/her house?
"The kind of support we received on the ground... did not reflect in the election results." - Abubakar Saddique Boniface, National Chairman of the United Party, explains the reason for rebranding from a movement to a party.
