Savarkar's grandnephew has confessed in court that Savarkar not only begged for mercy from the British but also pleaded for a job in the British govt in the 1940s.
This is what he was doing when the rest of India, along with the Congress, was fighting the British through the Quit India Movement.
To call Savarkar a freedom fighter is the most shameful thing and an insult to the real freedom fighters.
