What ruined high school recruiting isn’t the transfer portal or NIL, it’s the snake oil that 247Sports, Rivals, & On3 have managed to fool y’all into believing it’s the gospel for recruiting. The sheer number of people who believe the only way to determine a player’s value is by stars is wild. A 30 For 30 should be done on how those brands built a matrix and managed to plug everyone into it without the masses realizing. Kudos to them for building their brands, but shame on y’all for being fooled by it.

2008 was the last time a West Michigan school won a D1 state title in football. Only 2 school from the west side have even made the finals in that span. Have we fallen too far behind the east side? What will it take to end the drought?

@FromTheSeidline If they created a private school division they should allow willing public schools to opt in and call it the State Championship. The other can be the public school championship.

@dongoogie @zach_collins10 The difference is that he would be choosing within a designated boundary, albeit huge, and the public school would be required to serve/educate him. That's not the case in the private sector.

@dongoogie @TheD_Zone No because, for example, Saline was forfeited three games for recruiting players that pledged school of choice. Transferring to a high school and not living with in the district is a 1 year penalty in the state of Michigan
