Quit my PhD yesterday! Pretty proud of myself. It wasn’t easy but I wasn’t sure I was going to survive another few years (literally) and I knew my baby needed his mommy alive so it’s what I had to do.

@ms_sammc I can't but I am old. I try and try to stay electronic and somehow, I do not feel that I comprehend what I am reading unless I can print it out, touch it, write on it, highlight it, shuffle it from one pile to the next, etc.......

@DrCasteelEM One can say this about most things. A pedigreed school does not necessarily mean quality.

One thing I’ve realized during residency training is that there seems to be essentially zero correlation to the “tier” of medical school somebody went to and their medical knowledge or quality of doctor they end up becoming.

At the end of my dissertation survey I ask people to provide additional info if they want etc. My favorite gem so far- "I think relying on these questions will be very little help in understanding voice issues..." Thanks! 🙃

@Brett_SLP Truth Brett. Can't complain if you do not vote. However, trying to volunteer for committees, be on SIG boards, etc. for years. I gave up honestly. I was on program committees but there was rarely any interest in new presenters; why we hear from the same people every single year.

Unpopular opinion but I would actually like to see all of the effort, hate, and vitriol towards ASHA be put into actually getting involved with ASHA to make change rather than trying to dismantle it Only 4% of ASHA members vote in elections
