Small ick: people using ChatGPT as the single source of truth in an argument. most of the time , I’m fine with it. That’s not the point. the point is: ChatGPT said so - is not reasoning. It’s outsourced confidence. and adding on top of it the sycophantic tendency it has and it may create dangerous ignorants

Wise words. This perfectly captures how the last months have felt. In a take-home assignment the instructions said: “Write good code. Use AI if you want, but not fully. Include the prompts in the repo.” I sat there trying to do it “properly” myself while my brain kept saying: just open Claude. Eventually I gave in. As a software engineer my brain is basically wired to pick the lowest-cost solution to a problem. Once you know there’s a tool that can solve it faster, forcing yourself to ignore it and do it manually feels almost irrational. Prompt: “Read the instructions.md and build what’s required.” one shot. In the repo under *Prompts used* I honestly wrote exactly that.
