@dorantim @TheCricketerMag @NickFriend1 Totally agree we always try to produce a pitch that’s a good balance however 3 days of high winds early season grass isn’t easy, Also if we are over in 2 days the pitch might get reported and team loses points….Not a easy as it sounds

@barnstonworth @TheCricketerMag @NickFriend1 What constitutes a good pitch Gary? For me it’s a balance between bat and ball although I realise overhead conditions are also a big factor. Personally I’d rather see a two and a half day result than a 25 wickets in 4 days bore draw.

@AdamClifford8 @NoContextCounty Pope gave them flexibility and has batted pretty much every spot on the roster and kept wicket. Sam’s just so unfortunate that Root’s been a different level and has always stayed fit too. He didn’t quite do it when he had chances for the Lions either sadly.

@ArnieTTR @Surreycricfan I’m a Warwickshire fan. We’ve batted very well. At the start of the game the pitch looked like an Aer Lingus advert! You’re right though, there were some poor shots as well as the comedy run out.

Tough day at the office for Surrey. Disappointing yes, but that’s cricket. If you cannot support them on their off days, the don’t support them at all. Surrey will bounce back and there is a long way to go this season 🏏

I’m not sure he was that unlucky last summer. He didn’t pull up trees in NZ despite helpful conditions and it felt like it was time

@dorantim @ToWalkAbroad @WarwickshireCCC I'd say he was probably a bit unlucky in those figures, and the one pitch he had that wasn't a complete road he dislocated his shoulder on the first morning. I agree he's been better as a change for Eng, but then he had Broad and Anderson in the same team for most of his career

He took 11 wickets at over 50 and wasn’t amongst the top ten bowlers in the series 🙁 I went to 3 of those tests and it wasn’t right. Surely we’ve seen over the years that he’s a much better change bowler?

No question on his skill but bowling when the shine’s off and it’s starting to swing is different to what he’s been doing. OHD’s height and skill makes him a different challenge

@ToWalkAbroad @dorantim @WarwickshireCCC Woakes and Bamber seem pretty nailed on as the two best new ball bowlers. Can OHD play if he isn't taking the new ball? The seam bowling just looks stacked this season. Unfortunate for OHD but these things do come to an end

@MacedonianYeltz @WarwickshireCCC In early season conditions OHD has the skills to take plenty of wickets IMO even if he’s lost a little pace. Love Keith but surely he’s a backup? This team is *old* and IMO the danger is we ignore the younger players yet again and repeat our underperforming cycle.
