@dotNectar I wish the NAHL would go ultra young (mostly 15&16 yr. olds) and market themselves as a feeder to the CHL and USHL. At least fans would see some future stars instead of no name future DIII players.

The biggest disruption to hockey stemming from the ‘5 year running clock’ is going to be kids showing up on campus with only 2 or 3 years of athletic eligibility and what this means as far as where they play as 18, 19 and 20 years olds knowing they are burning paid-for university eligibility (*cough* U Sports *cough*).
What is *not* going to happen is NCAA hockey getting much younger.
Very few 18 or 19 year olds are good enough to play Division 1 hockey, let alone get the roles or minutes they’re used to. This is true now and it will be true under the 5 year clock. Teams are not going to feel a moral obligation to roster teenagers (because they are the victims in this shakeup or whatever) so they won’t.
