「キメラアント編」って、王とコムギの最後が泣けるとか、ゴンさんがかっこいいとか、そういう名場面の寄せ集めじゃないんよ。 宮殿突入した瞬間から、それまで別々に動いてたゴン、キルア、ナックル、シュート、モラウ、イカルゴ、ネテロ、王、護衛軍、コムギの因果が、コンマ何秒単位で一気に噛み合っていく。 しかも全員が状況を正確に理解してるわけじゃない。誤解したり、判断を間違えたり、誰かの行動を別の意味で受け取ったりする。でも、そのズレまで含めて、物語全体だけは異常なくらい綺麗に収束していく。 一番えげつないのが、人間だったゴンが復讐だけで動く怪物になって、怪物として生まれたメルエムがコムギとの軍儀で人間になっていく反転。 最初は名前すら持たなかった王が、自分の名前を知りたがって、最後は誰かに名前を呼ばれながら死ぬ。 一方で、仲間を大事にしてたはずのゴンは、キルアの気持ちも、コムギの命も見えなくなって、ピトーを殺すために自分の未来まで全部投げる。 この二人が、物語の中で逆方向に進んで入れ替わる。 ネテロと王の戦いも、最強対最強の能力バトルで終わらない。武では王に届かなかったネテロが、最後は薔薇という人間の兵器で勝つ。 しかも爆発で終わらず、毒が広がって王も護衛軍も死ぬ。人間の強さじゃなくて、人間の底知れない悪意と技術の蓄積が勝つ。 王は負けたのに最後はコムギの隣で人間として死んで、勝った人類側のほうがよっぽど怪物に見える。 ユピーもそうで、最初は完全な化け物だったのに、ナックルやシュートとの戦いで敵への敬意を覚える。ウェルフィンの「コムギ」の一言が、記憶も人格も壊れかけた王を一瞬で戻す。イカルゴの選択や、パームの変化みたいな脇の因果まで、最後に王とコムギへ繋がっていく。 伏線回収というより、最初に見てた人物や言葉の意味が、後から全部別物になるんよ。 これを週刊少年漫画で、あの人数と能力と時間軸を破綻させず、ナレーションでコンマ数秒まで解体して描いてる。 泣ける以前に、どうやって設計したんやってなる。普通に頭おかしい。 今はもう読んでない。 一番好きなのはヨークシン〜グリードアイランド序盤。

Might be catching a bit of a cold, but I've been running on like 5 hours sleep for a few nights in a row now. Bright side is almost all I need to do for Matsuri is prolly less than 2 hours worth of work, NOT including setting up the spinning slatwall to make sure everything is still working and to lay out how I'm gonna do stickers etc. But overall it seems like I am all nice and set for next week.

@AydenDKid It's called Hiatus x Hiatus for a reason and it's actually only been like 73 chapters(out of 414) since he's last been seen. As for why, Togashi has been focusing on one of the other main characters for now.
