But when harvest time comes, the price they get for their crops often doesn’t go up at all, or even gets pushed down. In the end, they earn less and less, the money they have feels worth less and less, and even buying basic daily necessities becomes harder and heavier.

You’re right that people living in villages never actually use or hold dollars, but it still affects them anyway.
