Ini terjadi di kantor cewe gw juga. Make up ya paling lipstick biar ga keliatan pucet. Makanya gw bilang, cewe² di X mungkin akan kaget dengan betapa pedenya cewe gw di real life tanpa pake make up di banyak acara (kecuali acara sakral dan sangat formal). Gaada tu alesan² "gw pake make up karena gw lebih pede gini, lebih seneng kalo gini" Kalo kata cewe gw: "muka tu banyak²in dirawat, bukan banyak²in dipoles!"

reading all these discussions about patriarchy reminds me of how i used to wonder why some girls are so focused on finding a bf & i think a lot of it is socially constructed cus growing up we’re asked, “have you found a bf yet?" as if that's the measure of a woman's success.

Di dunia patriarki, perempuan itu dituntut untuk dewasa/mandiri sejak kecil, sedangkan laki² cuma pas dia masuk ke usia kerja. Jadi harus nikah buat bisa ngerasa 'diurus' lagi, sedangkan perempuan, nikah gak nikah mah harus mandiri wkwkwkw miris.

In the real world, women without makeup will get labeled as looking tired, unkempt, dont know how to take care of themselves etc etc. Is it truly empowerment in that case when it's taxing on women who don't participate? Like, i love doing makeup, it's fun for me, but--

as someone who loves makeup, this is so true. notice gasih kalo pekerja perempuan mulai dr office worker sampe waiter dll mostly diharuskan pake makeup to look "formal". i hate how women with bareface are considered "unprofessional looking"
