NASA drops @neo4j for @memgraphdb after a decade of use, citing cost concerns. Klarna’s AI journey is rooted in the power of graphs. I agree with Sebastian that the value of Neo4j/knowledge graphs/GraphRAG is in the top line. It’s not about replacing SaaS, but bringing data from the many silos into a graph, and using that for better AI decisions.

The Free Software Foundation just submitted an amicus brief in the Neo4j case, exposing @neo4j’s behavior against the open-source community. (February 28th, 2025) It’s time for Neo4j to drop the “we love open source” act, or admit they were wrong and fix this before setting a dangerous precedent in courts. @fsf @emileifrem @neo4j storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

Yesterday, the Free Software Foundation (FSF) made their position crystal clear regarding the addition of restrictions to FSF GPL licenses. This is directly related to @neo4j’s addition of the “commons clause” to the Neo4j Enterprise AGPL licenses.
