@GergelyOrosz TypeScript is an often forgotten piece of the new Microsoft stack

But it's interesting how Microsoft products *is* being used by almost all startups, even if not the "Microsoft stack": - GitHub - npm (assuming they use node) - VS Code (likely choice on the web) - LinkedIn A remarkable comeback with tooling that almost all startups use.

The past 5-10 years I've seen fewer and fewer startups use the "Microsoft stack" (eg .NET, C#, Visual Studio) when starting out. Partially because it's seen as not hip, partially because it's not seen as open, and partially because it's more expensive (VS licenses). But:

@patio11 While I agree with you that running a biz is a lot more than IC contributions, this feeling of people expecting maintainers to respond to their needs for free and instantly is very tiring!

Paraphrase of a sentiment I hear a lot in OSS/etc adjacent spaces: "I do a lot of uncompensated labor. If I were a consultant, I could have charged $100 for this email." This is probably not the optimal way to run a consultancy. Unpaid labor does not go away if you run one.
