Do you think atheists who have biblical/saint names unknowingly live life with their heavenly namesake interceding for them 🤔

My 18 year old son is moving in with me after his high school graduation His mom and I divorced when he was 3, and she and her husband have done the heavy lifting until now. They’ve done a great job I’m going to do my very best to guide him into manhood He has decided to start OCIA and join the Catholic Church—entirely his decision Please pray for me as I do my best to help him avoid the bad decisions I made in early adulthood, for his mother as she deals with the pains of an eaglet flying the nest, and for my son to be true to God and to himself and to face the world with courage

Obviously, most of those who purchase/engage the Liturgy of the Hours will be bishops, priests, and deacons: they're obligated. My hope is that this is an occasion for the Church as a whole to reclaim the sanctification of time and space. The Liturgy of the Hours is a gift beyond gift for families, young adults and parents trying to figure out a spiritual practice that can make sense of late modern life, and well the whole Church. While parochial celebration should be normative (and what would it cost to move in this direction), I hope this new translation leads to a fresh commitment to the Hours. Nothing has transformed my life of prayer more than the Office: daily Mass and the Office is the heart of a liturgical spirituality.
Ascension@AscensionPress

Beginning Ash Wednesday 2027, the Church in the U.S. will pray the Liturgy of the Hours in a new English translation for the first time in more than half a century! Ascension was selected by the @USCCB to be among the first to offer a beautiful new edition. Join the waitlist at AscensionPress.com/LOTH.

I’ve never had a Costco hotdog. The chicken bakes are elite (although I wish they had one without bacon).

Watched Flicka on the flight to O’Hare. Forgot how moving it is. I cried like a little kid for half the movie! But I don’t think anyone noticed me wiping my tears again and again. 😭 @ActwithAlison you were tremendous, as always.

If you can spare a moment of prayer for a personal intention I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Will you please join me in prayer? We are in Lourdes and will put my wife in the water tomorrow. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and we are praying for a miracle. Thank you so much.

@DamonZumbroegel This is part of why I love woodworking so much. It’s like assembling a puzzle, only I must first craft the pieces.

Couple pics of things I make…..out of thin air. No “model kit” or IKEA assembly book to follow instructions. I’m the architect, I make the instructions. All of them.

For a change of pace… The church my family has been attending for the past couple years isn’t something I’m happy with. The pastor has fully embraced “prosperity preaching” and spends entire sermons clubbing you over the head to tithe. I seriously feel like he’s a bad month away from his own “lock the doors” moment. His wife, the “co-pastor,” literally turned her back on me when I was going through a rough period, both personally and professionally. Honestly, growing up, I never had a good church relationship. There was a LOT of bad disguised as good. The older I get, the more I realize how toxic that environment was. For my little girl, I want her to grow up in faith. I want her to be a true believer in the Word. I want her to enjoy Christ and a relationship with Him. I only hope we can find a really good church in Florida that can nurture all of it. Y’all pray for my family and I, please.
