Your need for constant noise is rotting your focus faster than weed or booze. Phone at every meal. Can't finish a page. Silence makes you itch. Here are 5 things Naval Ravikant, who backed Uber and Twitter, does to quiet his mind (without an app):

You can go your whole life never once sitting quietly with yourself. Marcus Aurelius refused to. He wasn't lonely. He was sorting what he could control from what he couldn't, one honest page at a time. Solitude isn't the absence of people. It's the one room quiet enough to hear yourself think. Ten minutes alone tonight, no screen, no audience. What would you finally admit to yourself?

Your best ideas are starving to death in the gaps you keep filling with a screen. Ideas surface in the empty gaps: the shower, the ten-minute walk, the stare out the window. You fill every one of those with a screen, so the well never gets to refill. Then you call yourself uncreative. Leave the gaps empty and they start filling on their own. The practice that protects them is one piece of a free kit. Link in my bio.

Every scroll convinces you you're falling behind. You're not. You're losing a game rigged before you woke up. Your reward system can't tell a highlight reel from real life. It scores their best moment against your average Tuesday and marks you down. So you feel behind all day, over a contest that was rigged before you woke up. Cut the reel and the scoreboard resets. The 24-hour reset that starts it is in a free kit. Link in my bio.

Every plan you announce, you quietly kill. You spend the credit out loud before you earn a thing. It isn't the isolation. Every update you post quietly locks you into the person who posted it. Announce the plan and you spend the drive before you earn it, so the old self keeps its grip. Go dark and that grip loosens on its own. There's a way to run the 30 days without white-knuckling it, in a free kit. Link in my bio.

You read all day and keep almost none of it. All that effort, quietly leaking out by dinner. Reading isn't keeping. Input slides straight through unless you make it catch. Three moves that make it stick: - write one line in your own words - say it out loud to one person - come back to it once tomorrow You don't need to read more. You need less to leak out. What did you read this week that you can't recall?

The way we see ourselves shapes what we allow ourselves to move toward. Our inner world quietly drives our repeated choices. A fear. A belief. Shame. Guilt. Identity. A level of self-trust. And those repeated choices become the life we keep building.

By noon you're not tired. You're depleted, and you burned it on a hundred choices you won't remember. What to wear, what to eat, which tab to open first. Each is small, but they crowd the same desk your real work needs. So the one decision that matters arrives to a cluttered mind, and you put it off again. Clear the small ones in advance and the desk opens up. You'll find the loop that decides them once in a free kit. Link in my bio.

You are constantly falling behind because you are in a desperate, panicked rush. The distraction class frantically chases daily shortcuts, vaporizing their long-term leverage. Slow down your reaction, master the boring fundamentals, and let the non-linear math explode.

We taught people how to build a personal brand before teaching them how to build a character. Now image grows faster than integrity.

Stop thinking about being successful. Success does not start with thinking. It starts with REPETITION. First, don't force your brain. When you force it, the brain resists. Resistance creates fear, doubt, and tiredness. Do it simply. Wake up early. Read for one or two minutes only. Do it today. Repeat it tomorrow. Repeat it every day. Your brain learns through repetition, not pressure. If you want to be a businessman, repeat this calmly: "am becoming better every day." Do this consistently for two months. If you see no change, then I am wrong. But you will see new actions, new habits, and a new mindset you never expected. This is how the mind changes.
