Of course that incident was thoughtless of him. Not condoning it at all. But, why the heck clean the bathroom after cancer treatment? Let it go. Sounds like a martyr complex. And sounds like there are other good things in their past and still in the present worth keeping. Of course she has been the perfect one and helped him fix the car, computer, etc., when he was sick. It takes a lot of work to make a marriage work. And for this older couple they are operating under cultural roles from their earlier years. To adjust to changes in expectations, training, counseling can help. It's worth it to save long term relationship.

This is why they are trying to get rid of no fault divorce, so women have to be stuck in marriages like this.
