I had the opportunity to spend some time at the Annual Session of the General Baptist Convention of NJ, with the prominent congressman from South Carolina representative Jim Clyburn. What a wonderful and brilliant man! I was thankful and humbled!

Those who seek the public trust should be willing to engage the communities they serve. We thank US Congresswoman and NJ Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill for sitting with clergy leaders, sharing her vision, and listening to our concerns.

I had the wonderful opportunity to read to an entire grade level at Knollwood Elementary School for Read Across America. Our students, teachers, and principals are truly outstanding! Thank you to Principal Voigt and Ms. Ambrosio!

I want to thank Newark Mayor and New Jersey Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Ras Baraka for spending time with clergy leaders to discuss the issues and concerns that are impacting all of our communities.

Over the years, Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. has been a friend, a pioneer, and a beacon of light for our community. He was always ready and willing to assist us. He will truly be missed!

I was blessed at a recent Juneteenth Celebration to meet Dr. Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.” We briefly spoke about our faith tradition, the importance of prayer coupled with action, our trust in God, and our hopes for the future!
