Intellectual communities are better and do better when they are welcoming and supportive. That feels like it should be obvious. But even if diversity and inclusion didn’t make us better scientists (it does) it would make us better humans, and that should be reason enough.

New polar bear paper. Largely confirmation of what we thought. Evolution & species divergence is less like a tree & more like a vine: lots of intertwining over time until new species can't produce viable offspring. Polar bears & brown bears haven't been separated long enough yet.
