Colouring isn’t just for kids- it’s scientific fact! We just published a paper about the benefits of colouring on wellbeing for young adults! We found that doing at least 10 minutes of colouring three times a week improves wellbeing in two weeks! #abstract" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10… 1/🧵

research has shown colouring is helpful in a ‘guided’ setting, where a mindfulness expert or someone else is on hand to help each time you colour. This was the first paper to show this creative activity can be helpful when people colour on their own, in a calm quiet space. 4/🧵

“The reviews are in general favourable and suggest that, subject to minor revisions, your paper could be suitable for publication.” The revisions? Update formatting of numerals to APA7! Hopefully this is enough to get my paper accepted?! 😅 #AcademicTwitter #AcademicChatter

Does astrology work? We tested the ability of 152 astrologers to see if they could demonstrate genuine astrological skill. Here is how the study was designed and what we found (including a result that really surprised me): 🧵

At what point can we use the presence of the world ‘Delve’ in a student coursework submission as grounds to refer to Academic Integrity review? Asking for me. #AcademicChatter Image by @philipshapira

(3) Research on fundamental beliefs about the world ("Primals" by @jerclifton) has found conservatives are more likely to see the world as hierarchical ("people, places, and things all have a value and rank"). Perhaps relatedly, conservatives tend to be higher in authoritarianism

Anyone who has met me knows I can talk, so chatting about science felt like quite a natural step for me… Facts.
