Mario Roggero, the Italian man sentenced to 14 years in prison by Italian justice for chasing down and killing two of the three robbers who attacked his jewelry store. This is his face after one of the countless robberies he endured over the years. During the assaults, Mario was savagely beaten by the robbers. His wife and daughter were threatened with death. His daughter later said she thought she was going to die that day. She suffered severe psychological trauma, nightmares for months, constantly looking over her shoulder whenever she left the house. It took her months to even begin to recover. In the 2015 robbery, Mario was brutally beaten. His wife was also attacked, the violence was so extreme that her hair was ripped from her scalp. Mario was repeatedly struck with the butt of a pistol, suffering three broken ribs, a fractured nasal septum, and a severe shoulder injury. He was tied up while bleeding out.
