@draqnz Oh absolutely it’s heartbreaking, like I think the space he had allowed himself to want things was very small, he operated his whole life with the knowledge that he needed to be the perfect heir and king and in the end it did not matter

@comicscurated exactly, and it’s things that the person on the receiving end has never even realized about their self or had the opportunity to unpack and here comes mr. all-seeing-observer delivering a lifetime of trauma in a single sentence

@draqnz YESS and it’s always cold and assessing in a way that lets you know he’s thought about it for a long time before saying it which is almost worse

sure, maekar’s sassy, with a snide remark and a diabolical side eye casually thrown here and there. however, i feel like when baelor ultimately reaches the end of his patience, there’s a brutal acridity to his words. they carry multiple meanings, sharply penetrating the receiver.

the idea of his calm and collected displeasure and resentment is so much more terrifying to me than maekar’s visceral, tangible annoyance and wrath.

he’s always analyzing, always strategizing. there’s no way he hasn’t dissected someone of both their virtues and their deeply hidden flaws, those that are perhaps unbeknownst even to themselves, within his first or second encounter with them.
