Thank you for your interest in my story. Yes, it is outrageous, and all Australians should know about it. I have been suspended by the Medical Council indefinitely while the HCCC pursues cancelling my licence for up to five years. This all stems from what appears to be a fraudulent complaint, as well as a complaint from the Westmead Toxicology Unit concerning a patient who did not consent to the unit reporting me to the regulator. However, the HCCC misled me into believing that consent had been given when in fact it had not. However, that is not the worst part. The complaint ultimately used to prosecute me did not come from either of the two original complaints. Instead, it came from the Medical Council itself, in secret. I was not told that the Medical Council had become the complainant. I was not served with a complaint and was not given an opportunity to respond. The law does not allow members of the Medical Council to adjudicate my matter and then become the complainant in the same matter. In my opinion, this may amount to a jurisdictional error. I am currently waiting for the tribunal’s decision.

Just had a very sad interaction, a single mum with 3 boys being put onto the streets, rented her home for 8 years but can no longer afford rent. What was once $280/week is now $950/week and with 3 kids aged 6, 11 and 16 she can't afford to take on a 3rd job to meet the latest rent increase, no public housing (28 year wait list) can't get crisis accommodation because of the kids age. This woman is working 60 hrs a week and can't make ends meet, the eldest boy is basically raising the other 2, she is now in the process of buying tents and sleeping bags, selling off her furniture and preparing her kids for life on the streets. Completely heartbreaking.
