Recovering from a 22 mile Velocity practice ride. Velocity Columbia ride to end cancer is mostly virtual. I am riding 40 miles on Oct 4 to keep this great tradition alive. We can’t let cold kill velocity.

A new paper suggests that fungal penetration into the pancreas enhances pancreatic cancer development and/or progression. We know inflammation of the pancreas dies the same so this makes sense. It is too early to propose anti fun gals for prevention or treatment but stay tuned.

The Mayo Clinic study highlighted on NBC News last Saturday is important. Others have previously shown presurgical chemotherapy value for locally advanced pancreatic cancer but this paper highlights when there might be value for surgeons to be super aggressive. It’s progress!
