Wish all the money spent today on a horse race went to the homeless, to people with mental health issues, to people with cancer and other debilitating illnesses, to support people with disabilities and their carers and to fund medical research. Just saying 😳

National Science week. Female group leader/ senior lecturer unfunded and no job. Despite winning national awards this year and with 20 years experience. Working casually as a demonstrator. We need more funding to support female leaders who have had career disruption! 👩🏼‍🔬🧬🧫

@ProfRAScolyer Thank you for your update and for sharing the reality of brain cancer and treatment. My late partner had GBM and your posts about scanxiety, your scans and these latest pics show the reality to me. Our dog was also a comfort. Sending strength and love to you and your family x

It’s been a little while since I last posted — as you can imagine, things go up and down with how I’m feeling during treatment. This week, it feels like the fog has lifted a bit, and I’ve been able to enjoy some really special moments with family and friends. I’m especially excited about this Saturday, when I’ll be completing my 250th Parkrun (at the Greenway course in Haberfield, Sydney). This was a milestone I set for myself at the start of my diagnosis — and honestly, one I wasn’t sure I’d reach. So it’s with a huge amount of gratitude to my family, friends, and medical team that I’ll be celebrating this achievement. Thanks to everyone who’s been cheering me on. @parkrunAU

Today is World Blood Cancer Day. Neil Pennock a long time collaborator and founder of the TLR Foundation is an advocate for promoting awareness about the donor stem cell registry. All you need to do is a cheek swab to join the registry. Check details tlr.org.au

Lovely to catch up with my consumer Neil Pennock co-founder of the TLR Foundation. Neil is a huge advocate for stem cell donation. You could save the life of someone with blood cancer. Donating is easier than you think. Go to the website tlr.org.au

@ProfRAScolyer Thank you for sharing your journey. I wanted to send love and thoughts to your wife and family who are on this journey with you. My partner had GBM and I know the anxiety and stress of waiting for the scan results and for the surgery to be completed and hoping for the best x

Thankyou to everyone for your kind thoughts and well wishes. I have undergone what is a complex surgery and am incredibly grateful to my medical team at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse for their exceptional care and support, particularly A/Prof Brindha Shivalingam. I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to my family & friends for their unconditional love and unwavering support throughout this journey.  Now I am focused on my recovery and will share more updates when I am able. Thankyou in advance for your patience and understanding. @COBLH @SydneyLHD @Sydney_Uni @Dr_Brindha
