Researchers show that a type of #AI known as a large language model often outperformed physicians at diagnosing complex and potentially life-threatening conditions, including decreased blood flow to the heart, even in the fast-moving stages of real ER care when information is limited. In early ER cases, the model identified the correct or a very close diagnosis in about 67% of cases, compared with roughly 50% to 55% for physicians. And the technology is only getting better. Eggs for Brain Health! 🍳 New data shows a link between eating eggs and a 47% reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease. 90% of Americans are not getting enough of the nutrient choline. Choline in eggs (one of the highest sources of choline) is a neurotransmitter essential for memory, mood, and muscle control. Therefore, ensuring adequate choline intake can support cognitive functions and may help in preventing certain neurological disorders along with optimizing health. In this new study, the researchers attribute the potential brain benefits of eggs to the choline in egg yolks. It's been known that the nutrient choline found in egg yolks, is associated with a slower rate of memory decline. This new study is even further confirmation. “Two eggs per day is the goal for meeting recommendations for choline and other key nutrients for brain health,” study investigator Taylor Wallace, PhD, CEO at Think Healthy Group and an adjunct nutrition professor at Tufts University. This level has been shown to be unarguably safe in clinical studies, even in those with diabetes and those with or at-risk for cardiometabolic disease.

I give my number freely to all patients both in govt and private I reply for Medical doubts only For fixing appointments in private i ask them to call the appointments desk My rationale is as below I get on average 5 calls per day from patients. Many dont call. Few call for emergencies I get more than 10 calls from credit card companies and finance companies daily and when i am attending the calls there is no harm in attending genuine calls. I do understand that each one may have different preferences and i respect them
Gladys Atto@AttoGladys

Patients get offended when I don't share my phone contacts. However, this is the uncomfortable truth: Patients should not directly be calling any doctor. Phone calls should go to the hospital's reception. They're the ones to call doctors and fix appointments if need be. For doctors working in government health facilities, the same should apply. Just imagine if every patient made a Phone call to the doctor before coming to the hospital 😱. What would be the quality of life of such doctors? Phone calls are very fatiguing.

What’s really driving exercise intolerance in HFpEF? It’s more than just the heart. From impaired oxygen delivery to peripheral dysfunction, the multi-organ mechanisms behind a key clinical hallmark of HFpEF are finally coming into focus and they matter for how we treat it. 🇮🇳 Big Nuclear Milestone! Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam attained first criticality on April 6, 2026. This 500 MWe indigenous reactor "breeds" its own fuel — converting Uranium-238 into more Plutonium while generating power. Key step in Homi Bhabha’s 3-stage vision to harness India’s huge thorium reserves for centuries of clean energy. India is now only the 2nd country (after Russia) with a commercial fast breeder reactor. Proud moment for #AtmanirbharBharat & Viksit Bharat! ⚛️💪 #PFBR #NuclearIndia

A patient with “recurrent mouth ulcers” walks into your OPD Most get symptomatic treatment Few get evaluated properly And almost everyone assumes “Mouth ulcers = vitamin deficiency” Reality? Recurrent aphthous stomatitis is primarily a T-cell mediated disease Let’s decode what we’re actually missing 👇

Flu vaccine: Who needs it, how often, and is it worth it? 1. Who should take it? Annual influenza vaccination is recommended for: 🔸Elderly (≥60 years) 🔸Children (6 months–5 years) 🔸Pregnant women 🔸People with diabetes, asthma and heart Disease 🔸Healthcare workers Ideally, everyone benefits, but these groups benefit the most 2. How often is flu vaccine needed? It is recommended to be taken once every year. This is because: 🔸Flu viruses keep changing 🔸Immunity wanes over time ✅In India, the best time to take is April–May (before monsoon peak) 3. Which flu vaccine is the best? There are two options: 🔸Trivalent (protects against 3 strains of flu viruses) 🔸Quadrivalent (protects against 4 strains) ✅Quadrivalent vaccine is preferred because of broader protection. ✅All approved vaccines are effective and safe. Brand matters less than getting vaccinated on time. 4. What are the side effects of this vaccine? 🔸Side effects are usually mild, which include injection site pain, low-grade fever and body ache. 🔸Serious reactions such as immune-mediated complications are very rare. 🔸Vaccine does NOT cause flu 5. Who should avoid or delay? 🔸Severe allergy to previous flu vaccine 🔸History of severe allergic reaction to components 🔸Moderate–severe acute illness → delay, not avoid Flu vaccine is safe in pregnancy and most chronic diseases. 6. Why should one take flu vaccine? 🔸Flu is often a mild illness, but it is NOT always “mild”. 🔴Severe flu can result in hospitalization including mechanical ventilation and ICU care, worsening of chronic diseases, and can even result in myocardial Infarction (heart attack) in high-risk individuals. Bottom line: 🔸Annual flu vaccine is a simple, safe, underused protection. 🔸Flu shot is not just about flu, it is about preventing complications. Dr Sudhir Kumar @hyderabaddoctor

I take annual flu shots; everyone in my family takes. Protection offered by flu shots is much more in value than its cost.

In the past, high-calorie diets naturally protected against protein deficiency because our energy expenditure was so high. Today, with our sedentary lives, low energy expenditure makes a low-calorie, high-protein approach not just helpful — but essential for staying lean and preventing metabolic disease.
