Hey so one of my grad school cohorts wrote her thesis on how the black conservative movement has been alive and in large numbers since reconstruction, and one of her most interesting findings was alot of black ppl reaction to even the "non violent"'civil rights movement

@aspencphoto @LenValyrian At my last school, if you weren't on the pick-up list for the child, the school secretary wasn't even letting you in the building (during COVID). I would come back from eating my lunch, flash my badge, and leave them folks outside! We weren't playing.

@LenValyrian When I was in school my dad wasn’t on the approved list to pick me up. (My parents were divorced and my mom had sole custody.) She had to call the school prior to give him permission to pick me when he would come to visit or else they wouldn’t release me.

I never forget this man came up to the schoolhouse when I taught 6th grade talking bout he was picking this boy up. I said “I never seen u”. I went & got the boy & was like “u know him?” Then I had him FT the mom to tell me who he was. I said “I had to verify cuz we not gon be on Fox5”

@MattRKay My daughter is a quiet student, a true introvert. She saves all of her words for me, lol. But really, she engages when she feels she has something pertinent to share.

“Talks a lot” does not automatically mean engaged. Talking sparingly does not automatically mean “checked out.”
