@gallifreymarx IIRC the prevailing hope was that the 60th specials would be textually abt rejecting nostalgia and embracing newness (metatextuality of the toymaker, Meep, Tennant2 etc), but it ironically ended up being the opposite

It genuinely amazes me that people actually thought this when the era started off with an idea as creatively bankrupt as David Tennant is the Doctor again

@bornposting He adores the medium and hates the industry, I don’t know why that’s so hard for people to square. Plenty of similar cases in other mediums who don’t get nearly as much backlash.

another thing that bothers me in regards to Alan Moore is that people say he 'hates comics' when he's openly talked about how he thinks comic books can do things that no other medium can

@AaronBaileyArt I wish he’d been pre-Missy. We’ve never seen a doctor and master “out of sync” with each other, and I think it would’ve been neat to see (plus it’d give more wiggle room re: missy’s death)

I'll never not be irritated with Doctor Who bringing back the Master and making him evil again. Missy had a beautiful arc and died siding with The Doctor and then in series 12 The Master just shows up evil again with no explanation.

Keeping a lost of Doctor Who episodes which remind me in any way of the Backrooms. So far I’ve seen a lot of people say God Complex but I’m embarrassed to say the first one I thought of while watching was Closing Time

@JayExci Missy gets a pass for me by virtue of how well constructed her costume is. 13’s outfit has always struck me as cheap, which I think comes mostly from the coat and tee. If the coat were more formal, maybe the tee would work better.

“Everyone’s a bit bisexual” is much like “we’re all a bit autistic” in that it’s someone who’s bisexual/on the spectrum etc universalising their experience and not being able to conceptualise someone feeling different (eg “how would you feel if you hadn’t had breakfast” test)

I feel very privileged to be bisexual because I’ve never felt a restriction in terms of who I may be able to love or sleep with, and I think being strictly hetero/homosexual would make that trickier. It’s very freeing to only have a personality caveat rather than a gender one.
