So damn tired of living in a country that treats Black grief as a threat and white rage as a sacrament

if we've published someone & you see them spreading anything that contributes to social violence against marginalized people, let us know. like our friends at @perhappened, we will not promote anyone who does this, period.

to be very clear, if you're saying/doing racist or otherwise oppressive shit and we publish you, we'll unpublish you and let other lit mags know, too. people spreading racism, misogyny, ableism, transphobia, homophobia, or any other such garbage do not get a platform.

@perhappened is the coolest lit mag on here. nobody better be canceling them for un-publishing someone who turned out to be super racist.

any BIPOC in the united states or otherwise could tell you that if these rioters were not white, this would have ended very, very differently. it's due to the deep, insidious corruption of our nation's leadership since its inception. this IS america. we must all reckon with that.

we are shocked & horrified by the senseless displays of violence incited by president trump in the capitol today. this is appalling, but we must face that this IS who we are - the rioters were incited by our nation's leader & enabled by our police force. where do we go from here?

@the_ethelzine @venusbeanus in our case, he didn't target us personally or harass us directly, but he's sure sent a lot of strange submissions.

@dreams_walking @venusbeanus He did the same thing to us over at Ethel Zine! I stopped responding to his e-mails.

don't publish gerard sarnat, but also don't publish ANY of the male writers who try to force their way into publication credits by harassing/attempting to intimidate women. he's far from alone.

said it before, will say it again. we have a repeat submitter who likes to harass people and publish exceedingly creepy poems about their lives. do not publish gerard sarnat. do not do it. nobody do it. don't submit to publications who do it. willful ignorance at this point.
