When I had a dream in 2007 of creating a place for individuals with developmental disabilities, where it’s would be like a resort - instead the horrific institutionalized settings they had — I was told it would be impossible. When I said, one day, we will have a Pirate Ship Building @dreamshine16 , THEY LAUGHED IN MY FACE! 16 years, we are HONORED to serve over 58 individuals with disabilities on our 2.5 acre campus with a Waterfront Lodge, Loghome, oh yeah, & a PIRATE SHIP BUILDING🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🔥🔥 Never , ever, ever, ever give up on the Dreams God puts into you’re heart — EVER!! A very important value I teach my kids, is to have a HARD WORK ethic…🫡🫡 I do my best to show them this through my ACTIONS. Shout out to my 16 year old daughter, Harjanah, who stayed up to support me, as I grinded out this very important video for my company @dreamshine16 , for each of our team members (employees,) which is a special part of our initiation process, for those who pass the 90 day probationary period, and become official members of THE DREAM TEAM 🏆🏆🔥 What’s amazing, is I started my company the year before my daughter was born, in 2007, right when the Great Recession and financial collapse of 2008 hit. Tonight she got to hear the full origin story of Dreamshine, (while also sharing her special memories and experiences with our seeing how happy amazing individuals with developmental disabilities we are HONORED to serve at Dreamshine over the past 18 years,) and she was in awww of how much we’ve overcome, battled through , and how special it is to see the company we’ve built against all odds.
