@drecymech Yep. Never had the book, but I know that is darker. What could you expect from Herbert? The movie is nice but was a complete failure commercially. I loved the Samuel L. Jackson voice over as Fluke’s friend. :)
I never thought I would have to write something like this.
Right now I am in one of the hardest moments of my life. I have no income, no job, and the situation has reached a point where I genuinely don’t know how I will cover the basic needs for the rescue dogs in my care.
These dogs were abandoned, sick, or unwanted when I took them in. They rely on me for everything, food, veterinary treatment, and safety. Walking away from them is not an option, but the truth is that I cannot do this alone anymore.
If you can help in any way, even a small donation can make a real difference right now. It will go directly to food, treatment, and keeping these dogs safe.

If donating isn’t possible, please consider sharing this. Sometimes the right person simply needs to see it.
Thank you for caring.
@TelennduDobes He's been desperate for the ball bless him.. he cut his leg in November. The vet stapled it but took them out too soon. It's taken all this time to heal so we've only had lead walks for 3 months! Happy boy today 😍🏀❤️
There is a dignity in being the one to walk your dog to the finish line when their body fails. It’s the final, most selfless gift you can give: a peaceful end. To have that stolen by poisoning is a trauma no owner should endure. It replaces a quiet goodbye with a desperate, panicked injustice.
One month without Hannah.
This photo is from 2016, I can still feel the hum of the engine and the quiet weight of a 4-month-old pup watching the road.
That 250-kilometer drive home marked the beginning of a life defined by her presence. It’s a bitter reality that a bond forged over countless kilometers could be abruptly severed by the cowardly act of someone poisoning her.
I firmly believe in justice for Hannah. Sometimes, it arrives when we least anticipate it.

A Warning from a Heartbroken Pack Leader
In 2016, I brought home a Doberman puppy named Hannah who was afraid of her own shadow. She grew into the smartest, most protective soul I’ve ever known. She lived for every command and stood as our shield.
Last February 4th, we lost her. Not to age or illness, but to poisoning. Maliciously thrown into our property!
Even in her final hours, in immense pain, Hannah refused to lay down. She fought to stay standing until her very last breath.
The Reality of Pet Poisoning:
• It is silent and fast: Symptoms (vomiting, lethargy, seizures, or unsteadiness) can appear hours or days after ingestion.
• Common culprits: Intentional baiting (meat laced with toxins), rodenticides, antifreeze, or toxic plants.
• Know your surroundings: Check your yards and public paths for "off" looking food or substances.
Hannah was a warrior who didn't deserve this end. If your dog acts "off," don't wait. Minutes matter.
Rest now, my brave girl. Your watch is over, but I’ll keep telling your story to keep others safe. 🐾💔
Note: Yes, that magazine cover is genuine, not an AI-generated image. Hannah was the featured model on the front page when Portugal began to realize that cropped and docked dobermans were no longer legal.
