I met a mom who was discharged and unable to walk after birth.
It took her 2 hrs with help from her family to get up the stairs to her home.
What surprises me more than her story are the messages I get every week asking for “research” to support acute care PT / OT after birth.

@ryansheltonPT Best work: 45-60 min patient visits, blocked time to engage in care coordination outside of the face to face visit, interprofessional meetings to discuss patient cases. Just a few thoughts off top.

There’s a big corporate push, rushing us to find ways to see more patients, to do MORE work

@lorenzo_masci @DrJN_SportsMed @carlespedret Seeing this a lot in outpatient sports PT even with our younger athletes. Large pain flares, slower to recover performance, sometimes add pain presentations.

Anyone in MSK seeing patients with chronic issues (tendons, OA, chronic pain) who had been doing well but have suddenly deteriorated after COVID infection (most mild inf)? I wonder if there’s a link or just related to general illness/deconditioning @DrJN_SportsMed @carlespedret
