@somanyshrimp @jaysonbuford yeah I bailed somewhere mid season 3 or 4 when it felt like it was spinning its wheels on the same plots. then had a little bit of FOMO over everyone raving about the final season but never went back to finish it

@GoodWillsmith I've seen people arguing on here whether the show is "Lynchian" or not but the one scene that seems undeniable to me is the guy in the shirt shop, his line delivery was just weird as hell lol. "he's at his limit!" (loved that part of course)

of course you could point to Twin Peaks as an obvious precedent where everyone has their little tics & weird fixations & the sum total of all that forms a mosaic rich with details. The Chair Factory lands closer to something like The Killing of a Sacred Deer for me tho

the developing friendship between Ron & Mike on The Chair Factory is one of the most bizarre things i've seen on TV in a long time. the way that everyone talks & interacts with each other on this show is so deeply off-putting in a way different than Robinson's other work. love it

@drenard Im a fincher stan and it never resonated w me at all. felt like it missed the mark of what is actually interesting about that time and feels more and more outdated every year since. I love gone girl, zodiac, mindhunter, etc.
