when a prospect goes silent, most salespeople assume they just got busy
rarely true
the real reason is one of three things
1 - they don't have the authority to move forward and don't want to admit it
2 - the problem you solve isn't that important
3 - they were never serious in the first place
you need to qualify harder upfront
you should only be talking to people with the authority, urgency, and budget to actually do something

i bet like most of those users with no account come from search
still remember the days when top results on google used to be quora answers. now it's all reddit posts
reddit's SEO team is killing it
why did quora drop the ball

makes sense because nearly half of reddit's DAUs dont have an account which means you can't serve personalized content and ads targeting is limited to topic clusters for those users

enterprise deals don't die because the product wasn't good enough
they die because you were talking to someone who couldn't buy
the IC loved it, they showed their boss, their boss said "interesting" and nothing happened for 6 weeks
the lesson is simple
if the person with buget authority is not in the room by the second call - the deal is probably dead
champions without budget authority are fans, not buyers
if the person with budget authority is not in the room by the second call - the deal is probably dead

why invest in treasuries when you can give all your money to bezos and ride a 15 year journey of occasionally clearing WACC

flat subscriptions are dying
the smartest SaaS companies already know why
flat pricing punishes your best customers because it charges the person using your product 500 times a month the same thing as the person who logs in twice
credits fix this
when someone buys credits they feel ownership
they can directly track value from the work they do
the best version is a hybrid
cheap base subscription to get them in, credits on top for heavy usage
the companies doing this well now all discovered the same thing
usage based pricing increases engagement and aligns you with your users
